Hindu wedding ceremonies, in order

A Hindu wedding in Marrakech follows your pandit’s muhurat, from the Ganesh Puja to the Vidaai. The ceremonies set the schedule; everything else is planned around them.

The sacred thread

  1. Ganesh Puja, the opening
  2. Mehendi, the adornment
  3. Haldi, the purification
  4. Sangeet, the celebration
  5. Baraat, the groom’s arrival
  6. Milni and Jaimala, two families meet
  7. Pheras, the union around the sacred fire
  8. Vidaai, the bride’s farewell

The pandit

Your family pandit travels with you, or we introduce pandits who have already officiated in Marrakech.

What you bring, what we source

The samagri: what comes in your luggage, and what we source in Morocco. Fresh flowers and plants cannot travel in a suitcase.

The sacred fire

Its place and conditions are confirmed in writing by the venue, with the civil protection services when required.

The Baraat

A horse used to crowds, its handler, a vet two hours before the muhurat, a rehearsal the day before; a vintage car if the ground is slippery. We do not offer elephants: there is no precedent in Morocco, and the animal’s welfare could not be guaranteed.

The hour

Your pandit sets the muhurat. We build the four days around it.
